This gut flora test includes comprehensive analysis of bacteriology and yeast cultures to identify the presence of beneficial flora, imbalanced flora including Clostridium species, and dysbiotic flora, as well as detection of infectious pathogens and evaluation for the presence of parasites. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing to prescriptive and natural agents is also performed for appropriate bacterial and fungal species.
A good balance of beneficial microflora has been known to be associated with health benefits. Lactobacilli, Bifidobacteria and beneficial E. coli bacteria are important to the functional health of the gut.
In a healthy balanced state of intestinal flora, the beneficial bacteria make up a significant proportion of the total microflora. However, in many individuals we see an imbalance of beneficial bacteria and an overgrowth of non-beneficial or even pathogenic microorganisms—dysbiosis. This can be due to a variety of factors including:
People may have health issues such with chronic symptoms such as irritable bowel syndrome, autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, fatigue, chronic headaches and allergies to a variety of foods.
We can test for a range of different allergies and health markers, using one of our home-testing kits. In this kit, you'll be able to test:
Pathogens cullture, Bacteriology culture, Cryptosporidum, Parasitology trichrome day 2, Parasitology trichrome day 3, Glardia lamblia, Parasitology concentrate, Yeast Culture
Once you've got your kit, make sure to read all of the enclosed instructions - they'll make sure you easily and safely get the best sample possible.
Samples need to be taken on 3 different days, and put into the pots provided containing a preservative. On the final day, a sample is also placed into a pot without preservative, so we can examine the live gut fauna.
